New IEEE 802 Tech Talk
Join us on 22 June at 5:00 PM ET, as Andrew Myles and James Gilb discuss “Coexistence of IEEE 802.11 and 5G? Wi-Fi TM and other technologies in 5/6 GHz Unlicensed spectrum.”
The talk will address the development of sharing mechanisms between Wi-Fi and the various 5G technologies in the 5 GHz and 6 GHz bands over the last 5 years as a case study. It will examine some of the problems uncovered along the journey and lessons learned, including how the experience of the last five years may impact the use of unlicensed spectrum going forward.
IEEE 2301™-2020, Guide for Cloud Portability and Interoperability Profiles (CPIP) Revision Study Group
IEEE Standards Association (IEEE SA) invites you to participate in the IEEE 2301™-2020, Guide for Cloud Portability and Interoperability Profiles (CPIP) Revision Study Group, which falls under the IEEE Computer Society/ Cloud Computing Standards Committee.
Why Get Involved:
IEEE 2301 provides advice for cloud computing ecosystem participants (cloud vendors, service providers, and users) of standards-based choices in areas such as application interfaces, portability interfaces, management interfaces, interoperability interfaces, file formats, and operation conventions.
Since IEEE 2301 was published, the cloud standards ecosystem has evolved significantly. This study group will investigate the need for a revision of IEEE 2301, and if so, develop a Project Authorization Request (PAR).
For additional information, contact the IEEE 2301 Study Group Chair, Brian D’Andrade, at bdandrade@exponent.com or the IEEE SA Program Manager, Christy Bahn, at c.bahn@ieee.org.
IEEE P3145™, Standard for General Technical Requirement of Auxiliary Warehouse in Smart Factory
IEEE Standards Association (IEEE SA) invites you to participate in the Working Group for IEEE P3145™, Standard for General Technical Requirement of Auxiliary Warehouse in Smart Factory.
IEEE Standards Association (IEEE SA) invites you to participate in the Working Group for IEEE P3145™, Standard for General Technical Requirement of Auxiliary Warehouse in Smart Factory.
Why Get Involved
This standard defines general technical requirements of auxiliary warehouses in smart factories. It specifies technical requirements for facility, equipment, system, safety, and fault handling, as well as space layout and intelligent algorithm requirements.
The purpose of this standard is to support the standardized design and construction of auxiliary warehouses in a smart factory setting with discrete manufacturing. Standardized auxiliary warehouses can play an important role in increasing the efficient operation of smart factories.
For additional information, contact the IEEE P3145™ Working Group Chair, Sun Xiaofeng, at sunxiaofeng.wl@haier.com or the IEEE SA Program Manager, Jennifer Santulli, at j.santulli@ieee.org.
